ROAG
Instructional film and guide for the Revised Oral Assessment Guide (ROAG). Oral cavity assessment for non-dental personnel (nurses, doctors, social educators, healthcare workers, etc.).
This oral health assessment is based on ROAG, a standardized instrument for assessing oral health designed for non-dental personnel. The first version, the Oral Assessment Guide (OAG), was developed by Professor June Eilers at the University of Nebraska. Professor Pia Andersson subsequently developed a revised Swedish version of the OAG for use in Jönköping, which is often referred to as ROAG-J. Permission to use ROAG in this educational oral health assessment has been granted by Senior Alert.
The foundation for this guide was developed by dental hygienists Eva Herremo and Charlott Karlsson, in collaboration with Folktandvården, Region Jönköpings län, and Senior Alert, Qulturum, Region Jönköpings län. It has been translated into Norwegian and adapted by the Competence Center for Dental Health Mid-Norway (TkMidt). The rights to the images belong to Folktandvården, Region Jönköpings län and Mölndal Hospital, Västra Götaland Region, Norsk Tannvern, and TkMidt. The images from TkMidt were taken by Lars Martin Berg (Trøndelag County Municipality). Everyone pictured in this guide has consented to the use of their images for education and training purposes.
The instructional film was produced by TkMidt in collaboration with the Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Ageing and Health.
