Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects up to 20% percent of the population. The disorder is characterized by profuse snoring, frequent stops of breathing and repeated awakenings. OSA a,.

There are a number of different therapies for OSA, but there are no available methods to predict their outcome.

Medical imaging of patients' airways can be used to build computer models for calculations of how airflow and tissue behave. With virtual surgery, we understand, for example, changes in the patient-specific computer model with subsequent mathematical calculations, to determine how the procedure will affect the patient in real life.
